LA IGRIEGA is born from a family project, from many paths traveled, from changes and discoveries, but above all from dreams to achieve.

Marcelo Goldberg, with a recognized track record in the textile industry creating brands such as Vitamina and Uma, found in Paraje Altamira the ideal geography on which he would begin to build his family legacy. Nicolas Goldberg, his eldest son, is the one who today is in charge of continuing to expand that vision and transmitting that legacy to the generations to come.
More than 10 years after its first steps, LA IGRIEGA stopped being a project and became a reality. LA IGRIEGA represents a way of living, of working the land, of giving the best to represent in each bottle of wine, an identity, and a place in the world.
SINGLE VINEYARD
In 2006 Marcelo found the ideal place in the "heart" of Paraje Altamira, Valle de Uco. There, where stones were found, and the right to the water brought by the melting of the Andes Mountains, he decided to plant 25 hectares of Malbec. And this is how the FINCA was born.
Through the years LA IGRIEGA becomes a producer of high quality grapes, and after 2011 starts to make "singlevineyard wines" out of this Malbec grapes. With deep respect for the land, LA IGRIEGA works carefully the vineyard to achieve grapes that represent and reflect the characteristics and identity of the "Terroir".

The 1940 "Casa de Piedra" and the "entrance gate" are the symbol of LA IGRIEGA, and re signify the vineyard, the place where everything begins and where much of the "magic" happens. The work carried out throughout the year with great awareness and respect for the environment, is the key part of what will give the main sustenance to our genuine and expressive wines, with a great sense of belonging.

PHILOSOPHY
The name LA IGRIEGA means "Y" in Spanish -equivalent to "and" in English- and symbolizes the genetic structure of this project. It is a philosophy of life that means link, union, bond, addition.
FINCA LA IGRIEGA is the sum of a magnificent terroir located in the heights of the Andes; the care of a renowned agricultural engineer; the skills of an excellent winemaker, and the passion of the Goldberg family.

LA IGRIEGA is part of PIPA, Independent Producers of Paraje Altamira, a non-profit organization that works to communicate the benefits of this wonderful and unique place.

Located at the alluvial cone of the Tunuyán River, south of Valle de Uco, 1,100 meters above sea level, Paraje Altamira exhibits its attributes at Finca La Igriega. Its limy stony thin soil with calcareous deposits, the altitude, the rugged nature of its geography and the temperate climate with cool nights are the DNA of its juicy and expressive wines, characterized by deep flavors, and sophisticated acidity.
In 2013 the National Institute of Viticulture recognized Paraje Altamira as a Geographical Indication (GI) of Argentina,
